SPF, which abbreviates Sender Policy Framework, is a verification system that is aimed at protecting against the so-called e-mail faking. Essentially, it indicates sending some message from one email and making it seem to be sent from a different one with the purpose to scam in some way the person receiving it. In the event that the SPF protection is active for a domain name, a record that contains all of the mail servers authorized to email messages with addresses under the domain is made. The record is kept on all DNS servers that direct the web traffic globally, so they all can identify whether an e-mail message comes from an authentic server or not. The verification is conducted at the first server where the e-mail goes through and in the first case the message is forwarded, while in the second one it's discarded and it never reaches its intended recipient. Using SPF records for your domain names will stop all unwanted people from using your emails for harmful purposes.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

If you host your domains in a shared website hosting account on our end and we handle the emails for them, you'll be able to enable SPF protection for them with a couple of clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. This service can be found in a separate section where you will be able to see which domains are currently protected. For those that are not, you will be able to enable the SPF protection solution and configure numerous things in the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are permitted to send messages from your e-mails, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these servers, as well as to set a rule that email messages can be sent only when your domains include our MX records. The last option is the most secure one, and it can be used if we take care of the e-mails for your domain names and you're not using some other email service provider. The newly created records will propagate within one day and nobody will be able to fake the FROM field in an email with your email addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection function is provided with all the Linux semi-dedicated plans, so if you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you can activate this service easily for all of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a very easy to use interface, so you will not need to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your email addresses. You'll only have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you would like to be allowed to send emails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you've picked. As a further option, we also allow you to control the outgoing email messages and secure your mailboxes even further by allowing messages to be sent only if the domain in question contains our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain have to be taken care of here and not by some other company. By doing this you'll have even superior control and there won't be a chance for someone to counterfeit your e-mail addresses for malicious intentions.
